Recycled carbon fibre

Carbon-composite scrap can be reclaimed—commonly by thermal or chemical matrix removal—and converted into chopped fibre, nonwoven mats, pellets, compounds or aligned discontinuous formats.

Light semi-structural mouldings, automotive parts, electronics, tooling, nonwoven prepregs and circular-material demonstrators.

The recovered filament may retain much of its stiffness, but shortened length, random orientation, residual sizing and variable feedstock reduce translation to laminate properties and complicate qualification.

Compression moulding, RTM/LCM nonwovens, injection compounds, interior panels, electronics housings, tooling and sporting goods.
