Huvis ? META

Manufacturer page / TDS

Description

Flame-retardant, non-flammable meta-aramid with high-temperature electrical insulation.. Product form: Staple fiber for spun yarn. Thermal/service data: Does not melt at 400°C; continuous use 200–210°C. Official source: EX-META-HUVIS

Comparative overview

Aramid fiber — Meta-aramid thermal/protective fiber

Strengths: Inherent flame resistance, electrical insulation and thermal stability without melting or dripping.

When to use: Select for protective clothing, fire barriers, filtration, electrical insulation and aerospace interiors rather than maximum tensile reinforcement.

Key tradeoffs: Lower tensile structural performance than para-aramid; moisture uptake and compression limitations must be considered.

Qualitative ratings (1–10 scale)

Relative cost6/10 — Moderate–high — specialty protective-textile fiber, but produced at larger scale than PBO or ceramic fibers.
EM transparency9/10 — Excellent — electrically insulating and generally RF transparent.
Temperature / fire resistance8/10 — Very high — excellent heat/flame resistance for an organic fiber and retains protection under repeated thermal exposure.
Impact / penetration resistance4/10 — Moderate — good textile toughness, but much lower tenacity and ballistic efficiency than para-aramid.
Electrical / thermal conductivity1/10 — Very low — electrically insulating and a poor heat conductor.
Specific tensile strength2/10 — 2/10 | 507.2 kN·m/kg | Family estimate
Atmospheric durability6/10 — Good — strong heat and chemical resistance for an organic fiber, although prolonged UV exposure can still cause discoloration and property loss.
Sustainability (CO₂e)6/10 — 9.50 kg CO₂e/kg fiber — Medium emissions — data quality: Low
