Quartz/fused-silica fiber — High-purity quartz fiber

Strengths: Exceptional RF transparency with very low dielectric loss, low thermal expansion and excellent thermal-shock/high-temperature behavior.

When to use: Select for premium radomes, antennas, electromagnetic windows, ablatives and high-temperature electrical insulation.

Key tradeoffs: Very high cost and limited supply; more difficult handling and lower mainstream availability than E/S-glass.
