Glass fiber — High-strength / high-modulus glass (S, R, T or equivalent)
Strengths: Higher tensile strength, strain capability, fatigue and impact tolerance than ordinary E-glass while remaining electrically insulating.
When to use: Select for rotor blades, pressure vessels, ballistic/impact panels, aircraft interiors and cost-effective radomes requiring more performance than E-glass.
Key tradeoffs: Higher density and lower specific stiffness than carbon, with a substantial price premium over E/E-CR glass.
