Strengths: Low-cost, scalable reinforcement optimized by sizing/form for compounding, injection molding and long-fiber thermoplastics.
When to use: Select for high-volume automotive, electrical and industrial molded parts where processability and cost dominate.
Key tradeoffs: Lower continuous-fiber structural efficiency and poorer specific properties than premium fibers; final performance is strongly length/orientation dependent.
