HexTow® IM5 carbon fiber is a continuous, high strength, high strain, PAN based fiber. Suggested for use in prepregging, filament winding, braiding, pultrusion, and infusion processes. The fiber provides high tensile strength combined with intermediate modulus and excellent strain performance, making it well suited for aerospace primary structures and other demanding composite applications.

When to use: Select for primary aerospace structures, high-performance pressure vessels, launch/space hardware and demanding sporting structures.
